Just your average Tuesday afternoon.
With the worlds biggest freezer paper stencil and free hand sketching. And a very large salad bowl. And carpal tunnel syndrome.
And lots and lots of paint.
And a bit of patience.
All for Ashlyn who doesn’t want to be just a butterfly. Not a butterfly fairy with wings either. She wants to be “you know, that black and orange butterfly. With spots.”. Yeah, I know- sigh.
She’s such a bad influence, that Ashlyn. I had Mary convinced she wanted a hot pink tutu and wings for her butterfly costume and that’s all. But now she wants to be a pink moth since Ashlyn is a monarch. A moth? A moth- fine. Sigh.
Next year they are all going to be rocks. I mean it!
can't wait to see the completed projects. . .I like the rock idea. Grey garbage bags, newspaper to stuff them. . .they could be rocks & then just roll on out! LOL. . .I need sleep.
ReplyDeleteyou're loving the crafty challenge--admit it!!
ReplyDeleteHaha! The rocks comment made me chuckle. Can't wait to see the finished products! :)
ReplyDelete...Now that I think about it, rocks would probably be worse. Because it would probably involve shaping chicken wire (always pokes you- ouch!) and lots of paper mache (oooey gooey newspaper). So, ya know, maybe butterflies aren't so bad?
ReplyDeleteWOW. could you PLEASE come to Chicago and make me a better crafter/seamstress/mom?
ReplyDeleteHow funny!!! I can't wait to see your final project!!! ;)
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see the finished product! The rocks comment made me laugh. :) Good luck...but on the bright side, someday when your girls are making costumes for their little girls, you can remind them that they made you make "moth" and "monarch" costumes and wouldn't have it any other way. LOL. :)
ReplyDeleteYou are such a nice mommy. I have one costume done and one to go. I look forward to seeing the finished costumes.
